We recently started a new job in West Chester Township, OH. As you can see from the images, this house had old wooden siding that was beginning to rot. We’ll be removing this siding and replacing it with beautiful new James Hardie siding in their Monterey Taupe color. According to James Hardie, ” Monterey Taupe is a versatile neutral that highlights every color the seasons bring. Itβs an understated but sophisticated gray canvas that intensifies an autumn landscape.” In addition to the new James Hardie siding, this home will also receive primed trim to be painted at a future date.
James Hardie siding is a good replacement for rotten wood siding for several reasons:
- Durability: James Hardie siding is made of fiber cement, which is a highly durable material that can withstand harsh weather conditions and resist damage from pests such as termites and woodpeckers. Unlike wood, it is not prone to rotting, warping, or cracking.
- Low maintenance: James Hardie siding requires minimal maintenance, making it an attractive option for homeowners who don’t want to spend a lot of time and money on upkeep. It does not need to be painted or stained frequently like wood siding, and it is easy to clean with a pressure washer.
- Fire resistance: James Hardie siding is fire-resistant, which can help protect your home in case of a fire. Unlike wood siding, it does not contribute fuel to a fire and can help prevent flames from spreading.
- Aesthetics: James Hardie siding comes in a variety of styles and colors, allowing you to choose a look that matches your home’s architectural style and personal preferences. It can mimic the look of traditional wood siding, but with the added benefits of durability and low maintenance.
Overall, James Hardie siding is a good replacement for rotten wood siding because it offers a combination of durability, low maintenance, fire resistance, and aesthetic appeal.
